FAQ

What is a CEFR crossword?

A vocabulary crossword aimed at a Common European Framework level (A1–C1). You pick a band, generate or load words, edit clues, and print practice sheets with an answer key.

How is this different from the ESL generator?

Same maker engine. This page leads with A1–C1 selectors and academic-progress framing; the ESL page leads with classroom vocabulary themes and printable ESL examples.

Does Easy/Medium/Hard equal CEFR?

Not exactly. Presets pair CEFR themes with a difficulty that steers clue length and abstraction. Teachers should still check that answers match their syllabus.

Can I start from my own word list?

Yes. Switch to Word list or Words + clues mode, or open the word-list maker. AI clue fill (when enabled) counts toward your free demo quota.
